Meeting of Director General, SJA with World Bank Representatives
Two members commission consisting of Mr. Anwer Advocate for Supreme Court Pakistan and Mr. Martin, Barrister from World Bank visited the Sindh Judicial Academy on June 2, 2017 to discuss how to strengthen mediation process in judicial system of Pakistan and revisiting the Civil Procedure Code, 1908. The members sought cooperation in the above areas.
It was informed by the Director General, Sindh Judicial Academy that SJA has already initiated these issues, as a result of recommendation formulated in the consultative workshop held on May 20th, 2017.
It was further informed that the SJA with assistance of its partner organizations has drafted a Bill to amend Section 89-A of Civil Procedure Code, 1908, and for amending the laws, a proposal to setup provincial law commission has been prepared and very soon it shall be shared with the Registrar, High Court of Sindh and THE Secretary Law, Government of Sindh.
They appreciated the efforts and showed their keen interest for providing technical assistance which was welcomed by the Director General.
